Deputy Governor of the Central Bank Ronald Waas said here on Wednesday preventive measures have been taken to forestall such attacks on our banking systems.
Therefore, there was no damage to Indonesian banks caused by hackers, Ronald said.
"We are operating normally. We do not even use back up facility in the central bank," he said.
He said the central bank has modernized and strengthen the resistance of its information system to any hacker attacks.
Earlier, Reuters news agency reported that Indonesian and South Korean central banks have suffered damage on massive attacks of hacker viruses.
The report by Reuters followed statement issued by unnamed international hacker group saying it would target banks including central banks all over the world.
The attackers, however, could not take away fund and find access to flows of funds, the report said.
The attacks by the anonymous hacker was only in the form of DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service).(*)
