"I was invited by the Global March (GM) and the Parliamentarians Without Borders (PWB) to discuss the rights of child workers in The Hague, The Netherlands, on July 8-9, 2016," member of the House Commission IX Okky Asokawati, informed here on Wednesday.
The meeting brought together 20 Members of Parliaments from the Netherlands, Sweden, India, Ghana, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Uganda, Togo, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
Kailash Satyarthi, the 2014 Noble Peace Prize laureate who is also chairman of the Global March, was also present at the meeting. He delivered opening and closing addresses at the meeting.
The meeting ended with the issuance of several recommendations, including those related to child health and protection of migrant workers children, Okky added.
"In this case, I (read Indonesia) managed to ensure inclusion of the issue of child health and protection of migrant workers children in the recommendations," he stated, though he did not elaborate on the results of the meeting.
