Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation Eline Tan told the ASEAN Conference on Social Entrepreneurship here on Wednesday that the initiative was a collaborative effort among social entrepreneurs from the region and reflects the spirit of togetherness as an ASEAN community.
The three social entrepreneurship projects are a follow up to the ASEAN Social Entrepreneurship Conference in Singapore in July 2016.
The first such project undertaken collectively by ASEAN, Japan and Australia is an online application called "TripAbility," which is a travel guide for persons with disabilities.
TripAbility provides information and references about destinations and tourist facilities in Southeast Asian countries that are handicapped-friendly.
The second project is called, "The Agrigator Platform." It is an online platform that carries information on verified food producers in Southeast Asia and is aimed at connecting investors and buyers worldwide.
This application provides a portal for social entrepreneurs in food sector in Southeast Asia to exchange information, knowledge and insight in order to improve their products quality.
The third project, "Map for Good: Follow the Impact Trail," is a map that enables access to information on social entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia for travelers.
This map has details of travel agents, restaurants, retail shops and others that social entrepreneurs may need.
Besides a printed version, the map will be also available online. The online interactive map will be developed in the next phase which is expected to be a media campaign for social entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia.(*)
