A press release of the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta received by ANTARA here on Thursday said the three were Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Bactiar Alam and Achadi Noriko Terada.
Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro was considered to have played an instrumental role in improving the bilateral relations in the field of education, especially when he served as the Director General of Higher Education at the Department of Education and Culture.
Satryo also developed cooperation among Indonesian and Japanese universities through student exchange programs.
For his works, Satryo received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon.
Meanwhile, Bachtiar Alam, who is a former Director of the Japanese Studies Center at the University of Indonesia, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette for successfully expanding the Japanese study.
Achadi Noriko Terada received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays. Achadi was as an employee of accounting at the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta for 33 years from 1970 to 2003.(*)
