"The weapons are imported and they are not the same as those of police or military in caliber, but they are specific," BNN chief police Com. Gen. Budi Waseso said here on Tuesday.
The weapons are expected to arrive in the country starting this month, Budi Waseso said without giving details.
The weapons are specific as from the bullets it would be easily known who shot the fire that killed a victim, he said.
The specific weapons are used only by BNN members, who are charged with the duty to eradicate drug abuses, he said.
The users of the specific weapon among the BNN members are skilled and trained and must pass psychological test, he said.
The weapons are long barrelled guns , snipers , combat weapons, pistols and accompanying weapons, he said.
BNN must be superior over drug syndicate in strength as currently drug syndicates showed they are ready to resist moves by BNN officers, Budi Waseso said.
