Wiranto made the statement after receiving Chinas ambassador Xie Feng at his office.
He said at the meeting, he spoke to the ambassador about the issue of terrorism and the anticipatory measures to be taken against these terrorists.
He noted that the Chinese ambassador explained how Chinas Uighur community took roots and many Uighur community members received training from ISIS in Syria.
"It is not impossible that when they return to their home villages, they would traverse through Malaysia or Indonesia. So, we have agreed not to allow them any room to indulge in any misadventure in Indonesia, Malaysia or China," Wiranto added.
He noted that Indonesia and China need to take anticipatory measures against the possibility of Uighur community members who are under the influence of the ISIS returning to their home country, lest they threaten regional security.
Wiranto said Indonesia and China shared the view that if no room was given to terrorists to conduct any activities and if the government immediately cut terrorists channels, they would certainly be thwarted.
"We have agreed to comprehensively study the issue," he emphasized.
Uighur community members are a Moslem minority group in the northwest of China. Some of them have been involved in militant activities.
Last March, Indonesian security forces killed two ethnic Uighur members linked with an Indonesian militant group operating in Poso.
Four Uighur members were put in jail in Indonesia last year after they attempted to join the group.(*)
