The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Rosan Roeslani, here, Thursday stated that the cooperation agreement is contained in a memorandum of understanding between PT. Wijaya Karya and Adil Abdul Munif Makki Group which was signed at Indonesia-Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Jakarta on March 2.
He said the project is planned to start in 2018.
Rosan added there were four cooperation agreements signed at the business forum with a total investment value of approximately US$2.4 billion.
In addition to the housing construction project, Saudi Arabia also agreed to invest in biomass power plant development with an investment value of approximately US$100 million, involving Koperasi Produsen Anugerah Bumi Hijau and Alfanar Energy.
Meanwhile, the third cooperation agreement is in the health field involving Healtchare Bunda Medik and Aloula Medical Care, and the fourth one is in tourism, particularly for Hajj and Umrah pilgrim travels.
"The Saudi businesses are increasing tourism services of Hajj and Umrah by involving the third largest company in Saudi Arabia," Rosan said.
He added among the products demanded by Saudi Arabian businesses are wood-based crafts.
The Indonesia and Saudi Arabia Business Forum was attended by the Indonesian Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita and the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia, Thomas Trikasih Lembong.(*)
