"Yes, certainly we will discuss the palm oil issue," General Chairman of Kadin Rosan Roeslani said after attending an energy forum meeting here on Thursday.
Rosan did not go into details about the discussion with the US delegation scheduled on Friday.
The Indonesian government has denounced the European Parliament allegation, which linked the countrys palm oil industry to corruption and violation of human rights.
The European Parliament called for boycott of investment in the pall oil sector and ban on the use of palm oil to feed bio-diesel industry.
The Indonesian Foreign Ministry has accused the resolution of discriminating against palm oil in contrary to the European Union position as champion of open, free, and fair trade.
Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita said the resolution would negatively affect trade agreement between Indonesia and the EU.
"If that is to happen , it would mean a challenge for trade war, and Indonesia is not the one to start it," Enggartiasto said.
Pence arrived here on Wednesday night from Tokyo after a visit to Japan. He paid a courtesy call on President Joko Widodo on Thursday and hel talk with Vice President Jusuf Kalla on bilateral and international issues. (*)
