The search efforts to look for the missing villagers was halted on Saturday at 10 p.m. local time and would be resumed on Sunday morning, Edy Susanto, head of the Magelang disaster mitigation office, said here, Sunday.
Ndaru River overflowed and triggered the flash flood carrying mud and rocks.
The flooding also injured four villagers who were later rushed to a nearby hospital and community health post.
The local authorities deployed 519 personnel to look for the missing people and help survivors in the village located between Mount Andong and Mount Telomoyo, Magelang.
The rescue team comprises personnel of military and police, as well as volunteers.(*)
