Among those attending the meeting were Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Mochamad Basoeki Hadimoeldjono, Chief of the Presidential Staff Teten Masduki, Head of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency Dwikorita Karnawati, Education and Culture Minister Muhajir Effendi, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
In the current rainy season, floods and landslides have hit several regions across Indonesia.
In the wee hours of Wednesday, two residents went missing, while two others were injured, as a landslide hit Pedukuhan Ngroto, Pendoworejo Village, Girimulyo Sub-district, Kulon Progo District, in the Yogyakarta Special Autonomous Region.
Tens of homes were flooded in Solo, Central Java Province, as the Bengawan Solo River overflowed its bank also in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
In the districts of Pacitan and Ponorogo in East Java Province, power outage was reported in 80 villages, as power sub-stations were damaged due to flooding in the two districts.
A total of 76,362 end users were affected by the power outage.
In Karangasem District, Bali Province, Mount Agung had erupted, forcing thousands of people to evacuate to safer places and leading to the temporary closure of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.
