The four companies were HSBC, KPMG, ARUP, and Linklaters, spokesperson of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation Lollan A. S. Panjaitan noted here on Thursday.
The minister pointed out that the four leading British companies were confident of playing a role in supporting the Indonesian government in improving the people`s welfare through public and private investments for developing transport infrastructure.
According to the minister, the four companies have experience in addressing investment challenges in Indonesia through an effective approach of public and private participation in infrastructure development.
"HSBC, for instance, has capabilities in capital and currency business that enable the British multinational banking and financial service holding company to connect with the world`s capital markets," he pointed out.
The minister said Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world and enjoys a strategic geographical location. Hence, an integrated transportation system is needed to build inter-area connectivity in the country.
Indonesia has identified its economic connectivity corridors to build and strengthen a sustainable economy and boost competitiveness.
The four companies interested in investing in the transportation sector will coordinate with the Indonesian Embassy in London and the Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation.
"We are ready to work together to improve the transportation facilities and infrastructure in Indonesia," the minister emphasized.
