"We have coordinated with the director general of highway construction and toll road operator PT Jasa Marga. We have agreed to stop the mobility of materials for the projects from Dec 22, 2017 to Jan 2, 2018," Secretary General of the Transportation Ministry Sugihardjo said here on Tuesday.
Because of the projects, the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section has been congested during normal days, he said.
Director General of Land Transportation Budi Setiyadi said the projects in the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section are not halted but are temporarily suspended due to the mobility of heavy duty equipment which is feared to disrupt traffic.
"So the projects will temporarily be suspended but work on the projects will continue, provided they did not disrupt traffic," he said.
