"We hope that the calm and peace which are tonight felt in the Immanuel Church, can also be felt by all Jakarta citizens," Anies said when delivering a message to the congregation of GPIB Immanuel church here on Sunday.
On the occasion, Anies was among others accompanied by Deputy Jakarta governor Sandiaga Uno.
The Jakarta governor further hoped that Christmas 2017 also becomes a momentum to keep the unity that Jakarta can be a comfortable home for its residents.
"We want to ensure that Jakarta is home to every citizen of Jakarta. Let us together build a calm atmosphere, peace and true unity," he stated.
Anies also wishes a marry Christmas for Christians who attend Christmas Eve Mass in this church.
"We want to greet all the congregation to congratulate Christmas Day. May peace, happiness, shade always accompany you all in this sacred night," he remarked.
A total of 118 security personnel were assigned to guard the area around the church.
