Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reached the Nur Khan Air Base, Islamabad, Pakistan, at around 14:30 local time after leaving India.

The President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, as well as the presidential entourage, arrived in Islamabad aboard the Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1 one hour and 15 minutes after leaving New Delhi, India, Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin stated in a press release here on Friday.

On arrival, President Jokowi and his wife were welcomed by Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and his wife, Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon, as well as Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan Iwan Suyudhie Amri.

After inspecting the guard of honor, the president and the first lady, as well as the entourage, proceeded to their hotel.

The president is scheduled to meet the Indonesian community on Friday and will begin his official visit to Pakistan on Saturday.

Jokowi is scheduled to hold meetings with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the Parliament speaker, and the chairman of the Senate of the National Assembly of Pakistan.

The head of state will also hold meetings with the staff of the Indonesian Embassy before heading to the presidential palace to hold a meeting with the Pakistani president.

Later that evening, the Indonesian president and his wife will have dinner with President Hussain and his wife.
