Situbondo, E Java (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) warns regional leaders including governors, regents and mayors against committing anything against the law including corruption.

Jokowi`s statement on Saturday came after the Corruption Eradication Commission arrested Jambi Governor Zumi Zola on graft charge on Friday.

"I warn all including governors, regents, mayors and other civil servants not to violate the law," the president said after attending a religious ceremony at the Islamic boarding house of Salafiyah Safi`iyah Sukorejo, Situbundo, in East Java.

KPK announced on Friday it had named Zumi Zola in a Rp6 billion graft case involving government projects in Jambi.

Jokowi also had a message for Zumi Zoloa to properly follow the legal process at KPK, saying,"Yes, follow the procedure."

KPK charges Zumi Zola with accepting illegal prizes by abusing his authority. In a raid, KPK found rupiahs and U.S dollars at the official residential house of the governor and his villa house in Tanjung Jabung Jambi.

After the raid KPK investigators moved fast questioning 13 witnesses including provincial officials, civil servants and other individual witnesses.

The case came to the open after on November 29, 2017 KPK caught red handed acting secretary of the provincial administration Erwan Malik, acting head of the Jambi Public Works and Housing Office Arfan, and another senior provincial official Saifudin and a member of the regional Legislative Assembly Supriono committing bribery.

KPK confiscated Rp4.7 billion from the suspects.

The money was to be used to bribe members of the provincial lawmakers to approve a draft law on budget proposed by the provincial administration, KPK said. The regional law makers refused to attend a meeting on the draft law as there was no "guarantee" promised by the provincial administration, KPK said.

The money, therefore, was collected from local business people interesting in the projects, the anti graft agency added.

Investigations of the case led to the naming of Zumi Zola as a suspect. Zumi Zola was already banned by KPK from leaving the country on January 25.
