The flooding triggered by incessant heavy rain falling from midnight until 9 a.m. local time on Thursday, affected the sub-districts of Mamuju and Simboro, Nini, a local resident said.
Reaching a height of up to 1.5 meters, the floods also inundated public facilities such as schools, officers and roads.
The downpour also caused several rivers to spillover their banks.
Meanwhile, floodwaters, reaching heights of between 30 and 80 centimeters, hit six sub-districts in South Aceh District, Aceh Province, on Wednesday.
The affected sub-districts are Meukek, Samadua, Tapaktuan, Pasie Raja, Sawang, and East Kluet.
The flooding cut off roads to and from Panton Luas Village in Tapaktuan Sub-district, destroying a bridge and isolating the local villagers.
