Jordan`s Minister of State for Media Affairs Jumana Ghunaimat said Jordan strongly condemns Israel`s violations and provocations, especially radical settlers` breaking into the yards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli police, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
The minister said such practices are condemned and rejected and they violated all laws.
Israel, she said, should respect all laws and norms and the historic status of Jerusalem and stop such provocations.
The Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv sent a letter of protest to the Israeli Foreign Ministry regarding the repeated storming of the mosque`s yards by radical settlers.
"All provocations need to stop immediately," she said.
Jordan, which signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1995, oversees the holy Islamic and Christian sites in Jerusalem.
