"The most important thing is to be alert in responding to emergencies, and then rehabilitation and reconstruction. According to West Nusa Tenggara Governor Muhammad Zainul Majdi this morning, 70 percent of buildings in North Lombok were damaged," he said after attending the plenary meeting of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Advisory Board in Jakarta, Monday.
He further stated that President Joko Widodo planned to visit Lombok after the earthquake rattled the island on Sunday afternoon.
"Of course, the President will be the first to visit, and then we (the government) will take care of the rehabilitation processes," he added.
The government had also set the emergency response period for earthquakes in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and Bali for two to three weeks.
"The government will proceed with the rehabilitation as soon as possible, however, there is an emergency response alert period for the next two or three weeks. The National Board for Disaster Management and the National Defense Force are also on it," he stated.
