Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla has inaugurated the International Broadcast Center for 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) here on Thursday.

"Media center and broadcast center are crucial, because without them it would be impossible for us to broadcast Asian Games events to the world," Kalla stated.

He expressed hope that the broadcast center would help in disseminating news on Asian Games to the world, through the work of thousand of journalists from 45 countries covering the multi-sport event.

The broadcast center would accommodate more than 10 thousands journalists of printed media, radio, as well as television.

"This might be the largest event in Indonesia, and there will be 10 thousand reporters who must be served properly," the vice president remarked.

Earlier, Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara stated that the 5G Experience Center showcase, which would be presented during the Asian Games, is expected to boost the country`s image, while emphasizing that it does not lag behind any country in technology.
