Sudartawa broke his own record of 25.04 seconds achieved in the world aquatic championship recently.
In the qualifiers phase, Sudartawa beat Chinese swimmer Xu Jiayu, who recorded a timing of 25.12 seconds, and Japanese athlete Irie Ryosuke, with a timing of 25.25 seconds.
The toughest opponents for the 23-year-old swimmer in the category would be Jiayu (China), who has a timing of 24.75 seconds; Irie Ryosuke (Japan), with 24.76 seconds; and Jiseok (Korea), with 24.93 seconds.
Other swimmers qualified for the final are Wang Peng (China), Quah Zheng Wen (Singapore), Lee Juho (Korea), and Merdan Atayev (Turkmenistan).
Indonesian contingent in swimming is yet to grab a single medal since the first day of Asian Games 2018 on Sunday.
