Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta`s Environmental Service has deployed 249 janitors and volunteers in seven match arenas located in East Jakarta during the 2018 Asian Games.

"We have deployed 249 janitors and volunteers in seven arenas of competition in East Jakarta," Hygiene and Waste Management Section of the East Jakarta Environmental Agency Head Wahyudi Rudianto remarked here on Tuesday.

He noted that every day, hundreds of officers and volunteers were working to maintain cleanliness in the arena of the competition, starting at 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).

"Their work system is divided into three shifts to ensure that they are not exhausted but maintain the cleanliness of the match arena," Wahyudi stated.

According to him, the seven arenas are Padepokan Pencak Silat in the Beautiful Indonesia Mini Park (TMII), Garuda TMII Theater, PB POPKI Cibubur, Rawamangun BMX arena, Velodrome bicycle arena, baseball arena, and Equestrian in Pulomas.

"The seven arenas of the match will be the location of our work. During the Asian Games, we will focus on maintaining cleanliness in these arenas," Wahyudi explained.

In addition to janitors and volunteers, he revealed that his office also provides 62 units of garbage bins in seven locations.

The details are 30 units in Padjadjaran Pencak Silat TMII, six units in PB POPKI Cibubur, six units at Garuda TMII Theater, six units at BMX Rawamangun, six units in Pulomas Equestrian, four units at Velodrome, and four units in baseball arena.

"There were 199 cleaning officers and 50 volunteers. They were in charge of cleaning up the garbage and dumping it into the Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) in Bekasi using a garbage truck," Wahyudi revealed.
