Sarnobat beat Naphaswan Yangpaiboon of Thailand with two shoot offs.
In the 9th shoot attempt, the 34-year old Thai shooter still led the final with 34 points, but she made a mistake in the 10th shoot attempt and failed to secure a point.
On the other hand, Sarnobat appeared calmer to execute the shoot and managed to equalize with 36 points. Consequently, the competition ended with five extra shoots.
In the first round of extra shoot, they scored 4-4 points, leading to the second extra shoot. In the second duel, Sarnobat managed to shoot on target thrice, while Yangpaiboon shot on the target twice.
With the triumph, India secured two gold medals from the shooting. Earlier, India`s 16-year old Saurabh Chaudhary snatched a gold medal in the men`s 10-meter air pistol event.
Indian coach Munkhbayar Dorsujem remarked that the victory is very important for Sarnobat after she was absent from the sport event for a long time due to an elbow injury.
"Mentally, she has been strong and at the highest level," he added.
