The Olympic medalist also made a new Asian Games record of 51.04 seconds to break his own previous record of 51.76 seconds.
The 23-year-old athlete defeated Chinese swimmer Li Zhuhao, who won a silver medal by clocking 51.46 seconds. Japanese Yuki Kobori finished third with a bronze medal.
The achievement proved who Schooling really was after he lost in the previous 50-meter freestyle event. He stated that he considered it as a stepping stone to prepare for the World Swimming Championship 2019 in Gwangju and Olympic Games in 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
"I felt I was on the right track, and so I think I will be better prepared to meet the competitions in Korea and Tokyo," he noted.
Schooling, who beat US top swimmer Michael Phelps and made a new record in the 100-meter butterfly in the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio clocking 50.39 seconds, would still emerge in two events of the Asian Games.
He would swim in the 50-meter butterfly and 4x100 meter relay events.
