A tour guide, Ganjar Nugraha, told ANTARA here on Wednesday that participants would enjoy Wayang Orang Bharata, a Javanese dance theatrical performance, in Jakarta Old Town.
On Aug 26, they will have a tour to Setu Babakan in South Jakarta to watch the cultural performance by Betawi (the natives of the city).
"The tour is aimed at promoting Indonesian culture. Participants could register for the tour," he added.
The organizer would provide shuttle services for participants of the tour.
The acting head of the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office Asiantoro remarked that the tour package has become one strategy to promote Betawi culture to Asian Games delegations.
"The cultural tour package would also give a good impression to all delegations of the Asian Games, including the athletes and officials," Asiantoro remarked.
According to Asiantoro, a thousand dancers would perform Betawi mass dancing to enliven the cultural performance in Setu Babakan, in addition to pencak silat and the traditional ceremony of Palang Pintu.
Apart from the two-day tour package, the office has prepared a historical tour to the National Monument (Monas) and the Old Town, as well as shopping tour to Smesco (small and medium-scale enterprises and cooperatives) and Grand Indonesia super mall.
