Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Kazakhstan women`s volleyball team defeated India three sets in a row, in the group B elimination round, held at the Gelora Bung Karno indoor volley court on Thursday.

In the first set, Kazakhstan led with 25-8, and in the second and third sets, it was apparent that India had stepped up their game.

By the end of the third set, however, the score came down to 25-23 for Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan got the best score for the second time in the group B elimination round, with two winning points in three sets in a row against Chinese Taipei and India.

Although in the second match the team was defeated by South Korea in four sets, the team`s captain, Rasmila Beresneva, is optimistic that her team can make it to the finals.

"We will do our best to get into the finals, even though we will have to go head to head with strong teams such as China and Japan," she said.

Her team, she continued, was ready to face the two strong competitors, in order to get into the quarterfinals, and eventually the finals.

"Our target is surely to bring home the gold medal," she stated.
