"We hope Milla can come to Indonesia for explanation of the contract extension," said PSSI`s spokesman Gatot Widakdo here on
Wednesday.
According to him, PSSI has submitted a new contract for Luis Milla with several clauses in it.
But PSSI is reluctant to tell what clauses are stated in the one-year contract.
"There are many clauses, but it`s confidential," Gatot said.
As mentioned earlier, the contract of Luis Milla to train the Indonesia`s U-23 national team ended in August 2018.
The man who was active playing with two Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid during his active career, has coached the U-23 national team since January 2017 and during that time he replaced the position of senior Indonesian national team coach who was vacant.
The 52-year-old coach failed to reach the targets given by PSSI such as getting the 2017 SEA Games gold medal and being ranked the top four of the 2018 Asian Games.
At the 2017 SEA Games, Malaysia, Indonesia U-23 national team won bronze medals and at the 2018 Asian Games, the U-23 national team advanced only until the round of 16.
The PSSI has prepared the names of other trainers if Milla does not approve the contract extension request.
"Certainly there are names but we can`t mention them yet," Gatot said.
