The presidential plane Indonesia-1 landed at Seongnam Air Base, here at 9:22 p.m. local time, after flying for around seven hours from Jakarta.
The Head of State was greeted at the Air Base by South Korean Maritime Affairs Minister Kim Yo Ung-chun, Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Umar Hadi and Defense Attache Oka Wirayuda.
Members of the presidential entourage include Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Presidential Military Secretary Trisno Hendradi, Head of the State Protocol Andri Hadi, Presidential special staff Ari Dwipayana, the president`s personal secretary Anggit Noegroho, and Commander of the Presidential guards Major General Suhartono.
Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi arrived in Seoul earlier to prepare the agenda of the Head of State.
The visit is a return visit after South Korean President Moon Jae-in had visited Jakarta in 2017. It also marks 45 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"In Seoul, President Jokowi will meet his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in and attend a business forum with Korean big companies," Foreign Ministry`s East Asia and Pacific Director Edi Yusup informed journalists at a press briefing in Jakarta on Thursday.
The governments of both nations will sign several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in fields, including legislation, immigration, economy, development of human resources, maritime security, as well as environment and forestry.
Meanwhile, 10 other MoUs will be inked during the business forum that will cover automotive, energy, infrastructure, and transportation, with an investment value estimated to reach US$1 billion.
South Korea is Indonesia`s fourth-largest investor, with investment value reaching $2.2 billion in 2017.
During his stay in Seoul, President Jokowi is also scheduled to deliver a public lecture at Hankuk University.
Indonesia and South Korea had agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation to the level of special strategic partnership during President Moon`s visit to Jakarta last year.
