Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to open a National Level Forest Management Unit Festival in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region, on Friday.

The festival in Bantul is held as a manifestation of government`s commitment to forest management in Indonesia on the basis of community empowerment.

Presidential Secretariat Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media Bey Machmudin remarked in his statement received here on Friday that

superior products based on forest management and community empowerment would also be displayed before the Head of State during the festival.

For his work visit to open the festival in Bantul, the president left Jakarta for Yogyakarta on Thursday evening in the company of First Lady Iriana.

Boarding presidential aircraft Indonesia-1, President Jokowi and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 5.39 pm on Thursday and arrived at Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta at 6.30 pm West Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).

Arriving at Adisutjipto Airport, the head of state was greeted by Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Ahmad Dofiri and Diponegoro Military IV Commander Maj. Gen. Wuryanto.

President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana spent the night in Yogyakarta before conducting the work visit to open the National Level Forest Management Unit Festival in Bantul.
