Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo left for Palu and Donggala on Saturday morning, to coordinate directly with the local government after a powerful earthquake struck the area Friday afternoon (sept 28).

His visit to Palu and Donggala was also accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Polhukam) Wiranto (center) after holding a coordination meeting on the disaster response of the Donggala earthquake at the Jakarta Polhukam Ministry office on Friday night.

"I and the Director General of Regional Administration and the BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency) team at 5 am to Balikpapan and at 9 am to Palu and Donggala, for initial coordination with the provincial and district-city local governments," Tjahjo Kumolo said through a brief message received between Jakarta and Jakarta. The Minister of Home Affairs has also issued a very immediate classification radiogram, number 361/7676 / SJ to Central Sulawesi Governor Longki Djanggola to immediately determine disaster response for the surrounding areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has updated the earthquake that initially had a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter Scale (SR) to the M6 ??SR with a two-kilometer earthquake center north of Donggala at a depth of 10 KM.

The source of the earthquake came from the Palu Koro fault. Based on the map analysis, this earthquake shock was reported to be felt in the Donggala IV MMI area, Palu III MMI, Poso II MMI.
