"The visits of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) guests to Labuan Bajo is an opportunity for the local government and tourism operators to promote the Labuan Bajo tourism destination of West Manggarai District to the world," Rumat stated here on Monday.
He said the quality of services was a crucial aspect for the IMF guests. Their visit to Labuan Bajo, which is located in the western tip of Flores Island, is a breath of fresh air for the region to promote its mainstay destination resort to international visitors.
Rumat added that the West Manggarai District government needed to coordinate with tourism players, so that the services provided to IMF guests are of high quality, thereby leaving a positive impression on them during the stay in Labuan Bajo.
"The IMF guests are VVIP visitors, so when they arrive at the airport, the sea port must give them quality service. The service to IMF guests is different from that for other public tourists," Rumat noted.
According to Rumat, who is also a local councilor member, hygienic food is an important factor, as it becomes a concern for IMF guests during their visit to Labuan Bajo.
The local councilor emphasized that the country`s guests are more concerned about the hygiene of food they will consume.
He emphasized that if the government and tourism agents in Labuan Bajo are able to provide quality services to the IMF guests, development of the Labuan Bajo tourism sector will increasingly be known internationally through free promotions by the guests in their countries.
"The IMF guests will certainly understand inadequate conditions of road infrastructure, but we should excel in terms of good service, so that the IMF guests will be satisfied and feel comfortable while staying in Labuan Bajo for a vacation," Rumat added.
