London (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government puts Tourism as one of the priority sectors in Indonesia`s economic growth and tourism is the second largest source of income for the Government of Indonesia

??????This was stated by Indonesian Ambassador to Spain, Hermono at the 2018 Tourism Sales Mission held by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Madrid at the Intercontinental Hotel Madrid for two days on 8 and 9 October.

Sales Mission activities were attended by more than 30 participants consisting of professionals or business people in the tourism industry, international and local tour operators in Spain.

?????Furthermore, Ambassador Hermono explained in detail since 2016, the Indonesian government launched 10 newest tourism destinations namely Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Tanjung Kelayang (Babel), Tanjung Lesung (Banten), Seribu Islands (Jakarta), Borobudur (Jateng), Bromo Tengger Semeru (East Java), Mandalika (NTB), Labuan Bajo (NTT), Wakatobi (Southeast Sulawesi), and Morotai (Maltara).

?????He said the activity was expected to boost Spanish tourists to Indonesia, one of which was through promotional activities and facilitating meetings of the tourism industry.

?????At the sales mission this time, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism brought Indonesian travel agents and tour operators namely Salvaje Sumatra Tour, Indonature Travel, Come2Indonesia and PT. Flores Komodo Tours to meet with partners in Spain.

?????"Although in recent times Indonesia is being curbed by natural disasters, this does not mean that efforts to develop tourism in Indonesia have stopped. In fact it has become a driving force to work harder to achieve the expected target," said Ambassador Hermono

?????He said that in 2016 the number of foreign tourists to Indonesia reached 12 million, in 2017 it rose to 14 million, while the 2018 target was 17 million.

Especially for Spanish tourists to Indonesia from 2011 to 2017 continue to increase every year. In 2011 the number of Spanish tourists was only 25,500, while in 2017 it increased to 80,942 people. While for 2018, the target of Spanish tourists is expected to reach 100,000 people.

The Sales Mission activity was enlivened by the performance of traditional dance from Cendrawasih Dance from Bali and Lancang Kuning Dance from Riau.
