There is no more domination by certain regions in the government development program, special staff of the president Johan Budi said in a news conference on Four Years of the Jokow-JK government.
What the Jokowi-JK government has done in the past four year is focusing on development of Indonesia as a whole, Johan said here on Wednesday.
He said in the past there had been allegation that government had concentrated development only in Java leaving outer regions especially frontier areas remain untouched by modernity.
The present government began to bring modernity to isolated or border areas Kalimantan, Timor and Papua through development of infrastructure.
Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said the government attention is focused more on narrowing the disparity in economic development including logistics.
"There is big disparity , therefore, we focus program more on development of ports and airport to reduce the gap," Budi Karya Sumadi said.
The Minister cited the government plan to build 48 airports including 16 airports in West Papua.
Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan, Rural Development and Transmigration Minister Eko Putro Sandjojo, and a number of senior officials also spoke at the news conference.
Earlier President Joko Widodo said the village budget has succeeded in reducing the gap between rural and urban areas both in infrastructure and human resources development.
"Therefore, village funds should be properly spent for the welfare of rural areas," the President said in Lubukpakam, North Sumatra on Monday.
The president said the government has so far disbursed Rp187 trillion in village funds to be used for the construction of bridges, roads, irrigation system and other public facilities in rural areas.
