"The presence of a large number of Sudanese businessmen, namely 48 entrepreneurs, at TEI 2018 is one of the successful efforts of the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum in supporting President Joko Widodo`s policy," Indonesian Ambassador to Sudan Rossalis R. Adenan said here on Friday.
The statement was conveyed by Ambassador Rossalis, while accompanying the Sudanese delegation at the opening of the 33rd Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) at ICE, BSD, Tangerang, Banten.
The Sudanese businessmen visited various booths in the TEI to explore and purchase a variety of products.
One of the products on display were building materials. Sudan is currently carrying out many development projects after the lifting of US sanctions in October 2017, along with obtaining investments from countries in the Middle East region.
Sudanese entrepreneurs who attended the TEI were engaged in various sectors, including entrepreneurs related to building materials, paper products, stationery and office equipment, automobiles and parts, electrical and mechanical goods, textiles, furniture, food and beverage products, and pharmaceuticals.
"The presence of Sudanese entrepreneurs at TEI is expected to significantly increase the volume of trade between the two countries," Ambassador Rossalis said.
