Denpasar (ANTARA News) - The Republic of Indonesia Police won the third place in the "World Police Service Shooting Gun Championship 2018" in Guangdong Province, China, 12-20 November 2018.

"Indonesia won third place in the team and individual numbers in the world championship shooting gun, which is the Bali Police Chief as the Team Leader Shooting Indonesia," said the Head of the Bali Police Public Relations Commissioner Pol. Hengky Widjaja in Denpasar on Tuesday.

He said this was a very proud achievement for Indonesia, especially the National Police, because the "red and white" flag could fly in the bamboo curtain country in the international arena.

"This activity will be held again in Milan, Italy. It is not easy for the Indonesian team to repeat the success that was achieved from the `Asean Police Shooting` Contest last June," he said.

However, this world championship made Indonesia count towards gun shooting capabilities throughout the world. "The championship was attended by police from 73 countries from all over the world," he said.

With evidence of the achievements of the National Police ranks, it is believed to be able to make Indonesia proud in the "World Police Service Gun Shooting Championship" event.

Indonesia sent representatives of the team to shoot the National Police in the world championship shooting gun in Guangdong, China.

"The activity will encourage police officers around the world to continue to improve their shooting ability in increasing the efficiency of using weapons in combat," he said.

Henky added that this shooting activity was also useful to improve police communication between countries, in cooperation in the security sector. (E002/B)
