"This is in the process, because this is in conjunction with the case of Lion Air, basically we will intensify the process of inspections of both the airlines and the planes themselves," Sumadi said here on Monday night (Nov.26).
He further explained that if negligence was found, his party would provide a certain pattern based on existing considerations.
"The process that we are doing is indeed detailed until the inspection, operational standards and procedures, competencies, are precisely done," the minister remarked.
On Thursday (Nov.22), Sumadi said he would review the airlines` financial audit to ensure the company`s financial condition.
He also said that not all airlines have a poor track record. "Some have received awards," he disclosed.
According to Sumadi, both low-cost airlines (LCC) and full service must guarantee safety, no tolerance (ignoring safety).
Previously, the Lion Air JT 610 type Boeing 737 Max 8 with PK-LQP registration number fell in Tanjung Pakis waters, Karawang District, West Java, on October 29, 2018 after it was reported missing contact.
The aircraft which flew from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Banten) to Depati Amir Airport Pangkalpinang (Bangka Belitung) brought 189 people, consisting of passengers, pilots and flight crew.
