Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian currency rupiah fell in value against the U.S. dollar in the opening of inter-bank transaction here on Thursday morning.

The currency traded at 14,511 per dollar losing 121 points from earlier level of 14,390 per dollar.

Senior analyst of CSA Research Institute Reza Priyambada said the rupiah fall followed the regional trend.

"A number of Asian currencies also suffered under pressure facing the U.S. dollar," Reza said.

In addition there were limited positive sentiment in the country, he said.
