"I congratulate LKBN Antara on its 81st anniversary," he remarked ahead of the commemoration of the news agency`s 81st anniversary at the Wisma Antara building here on Thursday.
As a news agency, Antara has served as a reference for other media in the country, he emphasized.
The president expressed hope that Antara would continue to serve as a reference in disseminating stories that give enlightenment and optimism and inform the public of development gains in the country.
"As a national news agency, Antara has served as a reference for other media in disseminating stories that give enlightenment, build optimism, and inform (the nation of) development gains in our country, Indonesia," he remarked.
Antara celebrated its 81st anniversary at the Wisma Antara building on Thursday, attended by almost all its journalists, employees, directors, pensioners, and other invitees.
This year`s commemoration of the news agency`s anniversary was themed "Antara 5.0 Corporation Transformation and Media Convergence."
Antara was established on December 13, 1937, by Adam Malik, Soemanang, A. M. Sipahoetar, and Pandoe Kartawigoena.
