Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta provincial administration has set a target of 2.8 million tourist arrivals for this year.

The target is based on the analysis and projection of tourist arrival growth, Chief of the Information and Development Section of the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Culture Office Alberto Ali stated here on Friday.

"Hopefully, we would exceed the target at the end of this year, and (the tourist arrivals) would have a better contribution to the economy, so that the local residents would feel happier," he remarked.

To achieve the target, the office has made all-out efforts to promote the city`s tourism, particularly at the end of this year, through social media, advertisements, and exhibitions at home and abroad.

Among the tourist attractions to be offered ahead of the New Year 2019 are Big Bang Jakarta at JIExpo Kemayoran in Central Jakarta and Dinoland at the Ancol Dreamland in North Jakarta.
