"Officers of the contact center will be available on phone number 198, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time, on every working day," Laode M. Syarif, commissioner of the KPK, stated here, Wednesday.
The anti-graft agency also plans to expand its service media to include chat, e-mail, and other social media platforms, he noted.
The contact center is part of KPK`s commitment to provide better access to the public keen on contributing to the corruption eradication efforts in Indonesia, Syarif added.
The contact center is also expected to prevent fraud from being committed by people claiming to be KPK personnel and intending to deceive people, he stated.
Until December 2018, the KPK has received a total of 6,202 tip-offs from the public.
After being verified, the KPK concluded that 3,990 of the total reports indicated corruption, while the remaining 2,153 did not indicate corruption activities, according to Syarif.
