Kalianda, Lampung (ANTARA News) - At least seven tourist destinations in the beach of Merak Belantung, sub-district of Kalianda in the district of South Lampung were temporarily closed following the tsunami slamming across the coasts of Lampung and Banten provinces in Sunda strait.

There are tens of beach resorts and other natural tourist objects which have been closed by themselves in the coast of South Lampung.

Among the tourist destinations closed are Krakatau beach, Beo beach, Sampenan beach, Marina, Embe (Merak Belantung) and Tapak Kera.

The tourist area of mangrove forest in that area is also totally abandoned.

Among the tourist areas, the hardest hit by the tsunami that killed hundreds of people both in Lampung and Banten was the Merak Belantung beach.

According to head of the Information Data Center and spokesman of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the death toll from the tsunami reached 430 on Wednesday afternoon.

In South Lampung alone, 113 people were killed with 289 injured and 14 missing.
