Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian tennis team eyes two gold medals from the women`s doubles and mixed doubles at the SEA Games 2019 in the Philippines, following their achievements at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang.

"We have reported the target to the Youth and Sports Ministry because they asked about it. I told them that we will be able to grab two gold medals from women`s doubles and mixed doubles Aldila/Christo," Chief of the Indonesian Tennis Association (Pelti) Central Executive Board, Rildo Ananda Anwar, stated after a press conference here on Monday.

Pelti has proposed Rp10 billion worth of budget to train five male athletes and five female athletes at the national training center (Pelatnas), he noted.

"We have prepared a Pelatnas program in Pejompongan, South Jakarta, where two tennis courts and athlete lodging are found. The tennis court at Bung Karno Sports Stadium is very often used as exhibition venue, and so the Pelatnas program will be obstructed," he remarked.

He added that intensive Pelatanas program will be started in August, three months ahead of the SEA Games 2019, because most of the athletes will compete in individual tournaments abroad.

Pelti has also prepared four trial programs for the Indonesian tennis team based on the budget proposed to the ministry.

"The players already have sponsors respectively for instruments. But we also proposed budget for instruments for the players taking part in the national training," he revealed.
