Among the ministers invited to the debate were the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, the Social Affairs Minister , the Religious Affairs Minister, the Manpower Minister, the Education and Culture Minister, the Health Minister, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, and the Sports and Youth Affairs Minister.
The Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) , the House Speaker, and the Governor of Jakarta, were also invited to the debate.
Incumbent Joko Widodo's running mate Ma'ruf Amin and rival Prabowo Subianto's Sandiaga Uno will face each others in the third debate.
Sunday's debate will revolve around education, health, human resources, social issues and culture.
Alfito Deannova and Putri Ayuningtyas will be moderators of the debate to be broadcast live by private television stations - Trans TV, Trans 7 and CNN TV.
Panelists preparing questions for the debate are Prof Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu (Rector of the University of Hasanuddin in Makassar), Prof Dr Chairil Effendy MS (former rector of the University of Tanjungpura in Pontianak), Prof Dr Samsul Rizal M Eng (Rektor of Unsyiah, Aceh), Prof KH Yudian Wahyudi (Rector of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta), Prof. Subhilhar, MA, Ph.D (the University of North Sumatra), Radhar Panca Dahana (writer and man of culture), Anis Hidayah (Executive Director of Migrant Care), Prof Dr David S Perdanakusuma (chairman of the Indonesian College Council), and Prof H Yos Johan Utama SH M Hum. (Rector of the University of Diponegoro).
Indonesia will organize simultaneous legislative and presidential elections on April 17, 2019, across the country.
The 2019 presidential election is considered by many as a repeat of the bitter 2014 presidential race, wherein Jokowi and Subianto are again set to go head-to-head.
The fourth debate, on March 30, will have presidential candidates and their running mates on the stage to speak about ideology, government, defense and security, and international relations.
No date had yet been decided for the fifth debate, with four of them being on stage to debate on the economy, social welfare, finance and investment, and trade and industry.
