Mataram (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo promised to build and complete three buildings on priority that will support the MotorGP 2021 at the Mandalika circuit, Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.

"All the infrastructure solutions are complete, starting in 2019, and will be completed in 2020," the president said in an interview with a number of media persons accompanied by NTB Governor H Zulkieflimansyah after reviewing the progress of the earthquake victims in the Pengempel Hamlet, Bertais Village, Mataram City, Friday.

The President explained the three supporting buildings were an improvement of the existing port facilities, development of BIL bypass roads to Kuta and the runway extension of the Lombok International Airport (BIL).

"All the work is from the port, the BIL bypass route to Kuta and the airport runway extension. I have ordered the Minister of Public Works and the Minister of Transportation to do it, starting this year and God willing, next year," Jokowi stressed.

The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of NTB will build a special hospital in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone, Central Lombok District, to welcome the Moto GP 2021 event.

"We will build a special type B hospital for trauma centers. Everything is about trauma," said Head of the NTB Provincial Health Office Dr. Nurhandini Eka Dewi.

He explained that all costs needed for the construction of the hospital were allocated through the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2020. Therefore, before April 16, 2019, all "visibility studies" had to be entered in the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, further planning for DED was submitted to the NTB Provincial Government so that in 2020, the hospital building would be completed. Then in 2021, all health facilities will be available and immediately operational.

"For funds, we are not limited to what we need. But we are currently counting, including land acquisition," he explained.

Land needed for the construction of the hospital is around 3-5 hectares because if this hospital develops, then the land can be utilized for development. The hospital will not only be used for the Moto GP event but will be utilized by the community in accordance with the development of the Mandalika region.

"If Mandalika is running and developing, what kind of hospital do we have to develop? This is in order to ensure the benefit of the hospital is not only during MotoGP, but also for the community in the future," said Nurhandini Eka Dewi.

Following the enactment of NTB to host the 2021 MotoGP show, the NTB Provincial Government has decided on concrete steps. One of them includes forming a Special Team for Moto GP, chaired by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of NTB, as well as revamping the road infrastructure and circuit race for Moto GP riders.
