These social media platforms were believed to be the most effective way to announce and share information, as well as to interact with the voters, as a majority of Indonesians living and working in Jordan were active users of Facebook, Firdaus told Antara in Amman on Friday
According to Firdaus, the PPLN-Amman Office operates from the compound of the Indonesian embassy to serve the 1,032 Indonesians whose names are a part of the Permanent Voter List (DPT) and are eligible to cast their votes in polling booths or via mail and mobile voting boxes.
A total of 956 eligible voters would cast their votes in two polling stations that the PPLN-Amman Office will set up at the Indonesian Ambassador's Guesthouse (Wisma) on April 12, 2019, while 22 others would send their votes via mail.
The election committee is also helping eligible voters living in the city of Aqaba to vote through mobile voting boxes, he said.
As part of the 2019 presidential election, the General Election Commission (KPU) has organized five rounds of presidential debates for the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pairs.
The first and second presidential debates were held on January 17 and February 17, 2019, respectively, during which the two presidential candidates spoke about their views and perspectives on issues comprising law, corruption, terrorism, the environment, and infrastructure.
The third debate, held on March 17, put the spotlight on educational, employment, health, as well as social and cultural issues, while the fourth round, scheduled for March 30, will highlight international and ideological issues.
The presidential debates, broadcast live by several television channels, are expected to offer some 192 million eligible voters broader insights into the capacity and capability of the two pairs.
With this information, the people can then vote rationally, and regardless of which pair wins the upcoming presidential election, Indonesia will be sure to see a new and capable president and vice president.
