Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Network for Democracy and Electoral Integrity (Netgrit) has appealed to the public to actively participate in supervising the implementation of the presidential and legislative elections 2019 in a simple way, notably, by using their mobile phones to take pictures of sheets of voting results at polling stations.

"It's very easy. Take a picture of a vote counting result sheet. Just by doing that we can help supervise the elections and guard the votes to prevent fraud," Hadar Nafis Gumay, Negrit founder, said here, Thursday.

Currently, thousands of people have expressed their intention to participate in a movement called "Guard the 2019 Election, Protect the Votes" that has been launched by Netgrit jointly with another NGO, KawalPemilu.

"However, we need public participation in order to make sure that the data we collect together can later be used for reference and comparison," Gumay noted.

He asked those taking pictures of the vote counting result sheets at polling stations to upload the pictures on the website: https://upload.kawalpemilu.org.

"The public can check the website anytime. If there is fraud or manipulation, it will be found out because anybody can see the pictures uploaded on the website," he said.
