Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Joko Widodo -Ma'ruf Amin pair met with the chiefs of political parties who formed a coalition to support Joko Widodo's re-election bid at a Plataran Restaurant in Jakarta on Thursday.

Jokowi arrived at the restaurant at 04.05 p.m. in the same car as senior politician of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Pramono Anung, Antara observed.

Meanwhile, vice presidential candidate Ma'ruf Amin arrived earlier at the restaurant located at HOS Cokroaminoto.

The political party chiefs who were present were PDIP chief Megawati Soekarnoputri, Gollkar Party chief Airlangga Hartarto, National Democratic Party (Nasdem) chief Surya Paloh, Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) chief Grace Natalie and secretary general of the United Development Party (PPP) Arsul Sani.

PDIP secretary general Hasto Kristianto said the meeting was aimed at monitoring the vote count.

To that end, all parties forming the Working Indonesia Coalition will take steps to unite and supervise the vote count.

On Wednesday afternoon, several television stations in Indonesia showed some pollsters suggesting a steady edge for the Jokowi-Amin pair, with their electability overriding that of the Subianto-Uno pair.

The two competing pairs presently await the official results by the General Elections Commission (KPU) that will be legally binding.
