Make this fasting month as one to perform good deeds. How wonderful if this month begins with warm preparation and remarks, by renewing repentance, and increasing reading and meditating on the Koran.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Friday sermon preached by President of the Two Holy Mosques, Sheikh Dr Abudarrahman Assudais in the Grand Mosque, Mecca, Saudi Arabia, has been translated into Indonesian.

President of the Islamic Communication Center of Saudi Arabia Faheem H. Alhamid informed about the sermon's translation on Friday (May 10) in a statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.

During the Friday sermon, Sheikh Assudais appealed to Muslims to reinforce the stand of a moderate outlook and unity among all.

Sheikh Assudais called on Muslims to fear Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala (God Almighty) and sanctify the practices and sayings of the Koran in a devout manner, remain earnest, and be penitent before death.

"Make this fasting month as one to do good deeds. How wonderful if this month begins with warm preparation and remarks, by renewing repentance, and increasing reading and meditating on the Koran," Sheikh Assudais affirmed.

He also urged Muslims to practice tolerance and compassion, forego envy and jealousy, purify their hearts, make peace by abandoning weapons among groups, stand united, and be considerate and engage in acts of charity.

In addition, Sheikh Assudais appealed to Muslims to maintain unity among the public by steering clear of disputes and divisions, endorsing moderation, achieving security and prosperity, demonstrating loyalty, and upholding national unity.

Muslims are also urged to utilize the channels of media and technology to promote and boost religion and welfare of the nations.
