"We are strong in terms of industry, both steel, concrete, and asphalt, which then support construction and infrastructure as its main business. So whenever, the government needs, we are ready to be in the forefront to be involved in the big mission," said the Managing Director WIKA Tumiyana in a press release in Jakarta on Sunday.
In addition to construction, Tumiyana also responded to the discourse of moving the capital as a great opportunity to carry out investments in the property sector.
WIKA itself is now making investment as the company's future business direction to get recurring income.
For Tumiyana, the development of an area will have a big prospect for the growth of residential areas with selling values that have increased significantly in a relatively short time.
Two regions, namely East Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan, are predicted to be candidates for new capitals to replace Jakarta.
The company's portfolio in East Kalimantan includes the PLTG (Gas Power Plant) 2x50 / 60 MW East Kalimantan (Kaltim), and Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport, Sepinggan (SAMS) as the entrance to East Kalimantan Province.
The Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road is being constructed. It will become the first toll road in Kalimantan while connecting the two largest cities in East Kalimantan.
In Central Kalimantan, WIKA also worked on the Tumbang-Samba Bridge project which became the longest bridge in the central part of Kalimantan.
The Samba Tumbang Bridge, which will be completed in November 2019, will connect the central Kalimantan crossing lane and increase the economic growth of the traversed area which is known for its rich natural resources, including oil palm, rubber and mining.
The 823-meter-long bridge was built by using the Modified Network Tied Arch Bridge technology that was firstly applied in Indonesia. The bridge was built by collaborating with WIKA's subsidiary entity-- WIKA Industri & Kontruksi (WIKON) -- which has been experienced in steel fabrication (bridges, conveyors, platework), heavy equipment, and manufacturing industries.
