Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) said that he had met many people in Jakarta on Thursday (23/5) to discuss the situation following the declaration of the 2019 election results, but did not provide a clear answer on whether he had met with presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto.

"I met a lot of characters and friends. That's all I can say, "JK said after summoning a number of religious leaders, community leaders and constitutional law experts at the Vice President's residence in here on Thursday night.

The agenda of Vice President JK on Thursday was to take videos at the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center at the Jakarta Vice President's Office, attend the Nuzulul Quran and Open Joint Commemoration at the PBNU Office and met national leaders at the vice president's official residence.

Spokesperson for Vice President JK, Husain Abdullah, confirmed the meeting. "Yesterday, JK met many parties, including NU figures. And that night at the Vice Minister's office, he continued to meet with national figures and religious leaders. But JK did not specify whom he met," Husain told Antara here on Friday.

Meanwhile, news of a meeting between Prabowo Subianto and JK was confirmed by the Gerindra Party on Thursday afternoon, without specifying the location.

Regarding the wishes of candidate pair 02 Prabowo-Sandiaga to file a lawsuit over the results of a general election dispute in the Constitutional Court, he said, "Our hope is to go to the Constitutional Court, because the court's verdict is final and all parties will certainly agree with whatever the Constitutional Court decides."

As a representative of the Government and Advisory Board of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf National Campaign Team (TKN), JK had expressed his desire to meet with Prabowo since Wednesday (5/21), when riots broke out in Jakarta.

"Of course, the Government is certainly ready to talk, dialogue with all figures because our goal is the same — peace, prosperity and that all procedures are in place," he said at the Jakarta Vice President's Office on Wednesday (5/21).
