The police have named two of them, identified by their initials as A and T, as suspects while the rest are yet under investigation, a spokesman of the Central Kalimantan Police Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan stated here on Thursday.
"The group's existence in Central Kalimantan was facilitated by Ansyari, a resident of Palangka Raya, since early 2019," he remarked.
The group, with alleged links to terrorist network Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), is viewed as a dangerous group, as all its members are trained in assembling high-explosive bombs.
"They target the police in Jakarta, not in Central Kalimantan," he noted.
During the raid conducted at several locations in Palangka Raya, the anti-terror squad had managed to confiscate materials for assembling bombs.
"They have been in Central Kalimantan for six months to undergo training and start to move after receiving instruction to go to Jakarta," Rochmawan explained.
In 2018, the group, headquartered in Aceh, was dissolved after Densus 88 arrested its several members. One of them had fled to Central Kalimantan.
"It is, in fact, a group of absconders. They are not in self-imposed exile while collecting fund and training," he added.
The group has planned to trigger unrest and terror in some regions in the country, Rochmawan stated.
